Trump: I’ll force Apple to manufacture only in the US

Controversial and outspoken Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump warned that he would force Apple, the U.S.’s most profitable company, to manufacture all of its products in the U.S. if he is elected president in November 2016. During a speech at Liberty University in Virginia late Monday, the front runner for the GOP ticket said, “We’re going to get Apple to build their damn computers and things in this country instead of in other countries.” According to CNBC, Apple currently only manufactures its Mac Pro computers in the U.S., while most of its other products, including the iPhone, are made in China.

Trump wants the business on American soil

During his 45-minute speech on Martin Luther King day, Trump also claimed to support free trade but insisted he would impose a 35 percent tax on businesses producing goods overseas, including Ford cars that are produced in Mexico. The GOP candidate and billionaire businessman said American companies should not be free to manufacture wherever they choose. “Free trade is good. But we have to do it [force them back to the US] or we won’t have a country left,” said Trump. Trump is noted for controversial comments and ideas during his campaign for the Republican nomination, with comments on Mexican immigrants, mosques, Muslims and refugees, ban of internet, among others.

British MPs branded Trump foolish and dangerous

British MPs branded Donald Trump a “stupid”, “dangerous” and foolish “wazzock” who utters “poisonous words” in a debate over whether the US presidential contender should be banned from the UK. “While I think this man is crazy, while I think this man has no valid points to make, I will not be the one to silence his voice,” said Conservative lawmaker Tom Tugendhat. However, another Labour lawmaker, Tulip Siddiq, supported a ban. “This is a man who is extremely high-profile, …His words are not comical, his words are not funny. His words are poisonous.”
