Tests of American hypersonic missile in Hawaii failed

Bloomberg, citing a statement from the US Department of Defense, reports that due to launch problems, tests of an American hypersonic missile in Hawaii failed.

A launch attempt was made recently.

“The failure occurred after the engine was turned on,” the agency quoted Pentagon spokesman Tim Gorman as saying.

This is not the first launch failure under the Conventional Prompt Strike program. The glide ballistic missile is supposed to be launched from Virginia-class submarines.
