Polish companies sue Gazprom for compensation

Today in Prague, the President of Poland met with his Czech counterpart Milos Zeman, at which Andrzej Duda said that Polish companies would use legal opportunities to receive compensation for the interruption of Russian gas supplies.

“Of course, Polish firms that have concluded contracts with Russia for gas supplies, which are de facto currently thwarted by Russia, and their conditions, as we see, are completely violated, will take appropriate legal steps,” Duda explained.

Duda is confident that Polish enterprises will receive compensation “for violation of the terms of the contract” by the Russian side. Poland annually purchased about nine billion cubic meters of gas from Russia. From April 27, Gazprom stopped delivering for the Bulgarian company Bulgargaz and the Polish PGNiG for non-payment in rubles.
